Five operating companies. Three reporting segments. One framework.
Our operating companies are managed independently and go to market under their own brands. 4boys does not co-brand, does not consolidate their audiences, and does not appear in their products.
Digital Media & Publishing
Owned-and-operated properties that convene durable audiences around defined interest categories.
We invest in editorial infrastructure, distribution discipline, and the compounding effect of reader trust. Audience is not acquired. It is earned, retained, and reported on quarterly.
- Owned-and-operated editorial properties
- Category-defined audience development
- Distribution and syndication infrastructure
Consumer Commerce
Direct-to-consumer brands operating in premium and specialty categories.
We prioritize gross margin integrity, category authority, and repeat purchase behavior ahead of unprofitable scale. A brand that cannot explain its price does not belong in the portfolio.
- Premium and specialty consumer brands
- Direct channel ownership end to end
- Margin-first category expansion
Applied Information Systems
Platforms that structure, retrieve, and contextualize information at scale.
We build the retrieval layer that determines which sources reach the reader. We hold ourselves to the standards that responsibility implies, and we review those standards on the same calendar as everything else.
- Retrieval and contextualization infrastructure
- Source governance and provenance tooling
- Automated publishing at production scale
Why our companies are not listed here.
4boys is a holding company, not a media network. Our operating companies serve their own audiences under their own names, and the value of those relationships does not increase by attaching a parent brand to them.
We therefore report by segment rather than by entity. Segment definitions, capability descriptions, and the criteria by which we allocate capital are published above. Entity-level detail is provided to counterparties, prospective operators, and regulators on request.
This is a deliberate policy of the Board and is reviewed annually. It has not changed since 2019.
What we look for.
Owner-operated
A business already run by someone who intends to keep running it. We are buying a management team as much as an asset.
Defensible category position
A definable audience or customer base that would be expensive for a competitor to rebuild from nothing.
Understandable economics
Revenue we can attribute, costs we can forecast, and a margin structure that survives a year without growth.
Indefinite hold
A business we would be comfortable owning if no buyer ever emerged, because we do not plan to look for one.
If you are an operator considering a permanent home for your business, we will take the meeting.
We evaluate every opportunity against the same four criteria and respond either way. We do not run auctions and we do not issue indicative ranges we have no intention of honoring.
