4boys Holdings, Inc.
About 4boys

A holding company with no exit horizon.

To own and steward businesses that remain valuable after the conditions that created them have passed.

Our story

4boys was established in 2019 as a permanent holding company for a small number of owner-operated businesses. The original thesis has not been revised: durable enterprises are built by operators who are given a clear mandate, sufficient capital, and an honest review.

We are not a fund. We have no exit horizon, no vintage year, and no obligation to return capital on a schedule set by someone else. When we acquire a business, the expected holding period is indefinite.

Today the company operates three reporting segments across digital media and publishing, consumer commerce, and applied information systems. Each is managed independently and measured identically.

We optimize for the twentieth year, which is rarely the same decision as optimizing for the first.

Purpose & values

What we hold ourselves to.

Six statements, reviewed annually by the Board and applied without segment-level exception.

Integrity

We say the same thing internally that we say externally, including when the numbers are unflattering.

Rigor

Every claim carries a source. Every forecast carries an owner.

Ownership

Our operators think in decades because they are compensated in decades.

Candor

Bad news travels upward at the same speed as good news, or the framework has failed.

Stewardship

We inherit businesses from their founders and we are accountable to the people who come after us.

Longevity

We optimize for the twentieth year, which is rarely the same decision as optimizing for the first.

How we work

The 4boys Operating System

Align. Allocate. Review.

4OS is our management framework. It is applied uniformly across every operating company, in every segment, in every reporting period. It is not a philosophy. It is a process.

01

Alignment

Every operating company inherits a single definition of success, expressed in the same terms and reviewed on the same calendar.

02

Allocation

Capital follows evidence. Enthusiasm is noted, recorded, and set aside.

03

Autonomy

We do not operate our companies. We hold their operators to what they told us they would do.

04

Accountability

What is measured is reviewed. What is reviewed is improved. What is not measured is escalated.

Leadership

The people accountable for the framework.

Our executive team is responsible for the uniform application of the operating framework across every segment, and for reporting the result whether or not it is favorable.
